Freelance Work: There are a lot of different types of freelance work available depending on your vocation. If you are a writer, editor, graphic designer, or in associated creative work, freelance could be very beneficial for you. Freelancers must be self-motivated, however, and constantly seeking new venues for their work, or they can very quickly find themselves without a pay check.
Start Your Own Business Venture: As I mentioned previously this was the route that I took. Start up costs are usually the main concern for potential entrepreneurs, but this can be easily solved by applying for a grant. If you have an idea for a business than this route could be the most rewarding both financially and emotionally.
Customer Service: This job can be done for online or phone-based client attention. While the pay perhaps isnt as appealing as some other jobs, it is a consistent hourly wage that simply requires you to be in your house and available. There is, however, very little tolerance in this field for noisy distractions on the job, such as crying babies, or barking dogs. These unprofessional distracting noises can leave you very quickly without a job.
Telemarketing: If you dont mind receiving the odd hang-up or cruel remark, telemarketing might just be the job for you. It involves little preparation and no additional hours then those paid to you in an hourly wage.
Supplemental home-based jobs: These jobs include but are not limited to tutoring, baby-sitting, and dog-walking. They pay high hourly wages and depending on how actively you pursue clients, can be quite the supplemental revenue.
